Job Context: Social Assistance and Rehabilitation for the Physically Vulnerable (SARPV) is a non- government, non-profit, Bangladeshi organization providing lifesaving nutrition support to the FDMN Rohingya people of Cox’s Bazar under its integrated nutrition programme. As part of Nutrition interventions in support with WFP & UNICEF, SARPV is working for the treatment and prevention of malnutrition among under 5 children, adolescent, pregnant & lactating women in Rohingya community.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. A) Screening, detection of SAM/MAM, malnourished PLW and referral mechanism:
  • Supervision and monitoring of full anthropometric assessment at field level and ensuring proper admission-discharge criteria being followed for all the children and PLW, monitoring & referral of SAM / MAM / BSFP points and ensuring their admission.
  • Ensure that edema checking and nutrition messaging are done properly.
  • Ensure quality Rapid assessment of PLW is done properly at the field level.
  • Ensuring that they are running all activities according to established protocols and standards given by UNICEF & WFP.
  1. B) Ensure SBCC component of the Programme is in place:
  • Ensure cooking demonstration session is being effective in the household level for newly admitted beneficiaries.
  • Ensure appropriate IEC materials are used by the CNV in community level MTMSG session
  • Ensure regular age appropriate IYCF messaging in community.
  • Ensure good quality of nutrition education session with appropriate IEC materials used by health educators at the center by making dynamic plans of cascading efficient message at the community level.
  1. C) Quality control of the Program:
  • Ensure the implementation and follow up of standard protocols in the community level assessment.
  • Ensure that any instant critical issue of the field is taken care of from the technical point of view.
  • Ensure and monitoring of Support Group Meeting regularly at field level.
  • Ensure monthly and regular basis IFA distribution and Adolescent sessions among targeted group in the camps avoiding duplication.
  • Make monthly plans of CNP supervisors for ensuring 100% coverage of beneficiaries in the whole camps.
  • Make sure that effective and fruitful home visits are done by CNP and CNP supervisor.
  • Ensure the Cleanliness & hygiene maintenance in the household level.
  • Ensure proper official etiquette management and empathetic attitude with beneficiaries.
  • Make sure every data and information related to beneficiaries are recorded and calculated properly.
  • Ensure good collaboration with Site supervisor for making the program more fruitful.
  1. D) Report/Analysis:
  • Prepare monthly target and activities plan for thyself and outreach staffs if necessary.
  • Submission of daily outreach reports to the program through assigned M&E Officers.
  • Prepare and submission of Monthly Statistical and analytical Report regarding outreach activities to the Site Supervisor
  • Report any kind of problem to the PM.
  • Make sure that daily, weekly and monthly record of beneficiaries (admissions, cured, defaulters, death, transfer, gain of weight, length of stay, etc.) is in place and give attention to cases which need special care with the assistance of center supervisor.
  • Be responsible for all reporting activities regarding nutrition center and outreach in the absence of site supervisor.
  1. E) Coordination and collaborations:
  • Work in close collaboration and coordination with UNHCR & WFP field staffs and give timely feedback on going activities through PM.
  • Collaboration and coordination with respective CIC (Camp in Charge) office.
  • Collaboration and coordination with other stakeholders at field level.
  • Ensure good coordination with majhis, local leaders and Imams.
  • Active participation to and supervision of the community mobilization and awareness sessions among the local population.
  • Ensure monthly coordination meeting of SARPV field staffs at the Camp level.
  • Attend weekly/biweekly/monthly meeting at Ukhiya/Cox’s Bazar office with PM regularly if needed.

Education, Experience and basic requirement:

  1. Masters/Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Food Science or relevant subjects.
  2. 1 years of work experience in Nutrition, especially in refugee context.
  3. Good computer and report writing skills are required
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English is required

Employment Status: Contractual till 31st October 2023 (Renewable based on fund availability)

Job Responsibilities:
Project Implementation

  • Build capacity of community mobilizers to deliver quality cascading sessions through volunteers, as per the Support Group approach, on maternal, infant and young child nutrition
  • Ensure proper programme participants selection for the homestead garden activities
  • Distribute materials / inputs to target beneficiaries, and promote the utilisation as per project design, to achieve project objectives
  • Conduct on the job coaching to the field team to maintain high quality and accountability to programme participants.

Coordination

  • Liaise with govt. authorities in camp level / Upazila level, ensure need assessment approval, maintain coordination and collaboration throughout the project cycle, conduct project start up and progress sharing workshop.
  • Liaise with other SARPV project field teams to ensure integration of all projects within SARPV, for smooth operation and mutual support.

Human Resource Management

  • Monitor staff performance and ensure timely performance Apprisal.
  • Ensure staff welfare, safety and security in liaison with HR and Other senior staff.
  • Ensure an enabling, friendly, collaborative and professional working culture within the project team, and adherence to SARPV policies and procedures.

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Support MEAL team to create database of the programme participants
  • Participate in regular team meetings to share activity progress and learning.
  • Work with MEAL and DPM, PM to identify and address implementation bottlenecks.
  • Support MEAL team in data collection for surveys and evaluations.
  • Ensure that the feedback mechanism for accountability to staff and beneficiaries is operational in the programme areas.

Reporting

  • Share weekly field activities updates with DPM.
  • Ensure monthly statistical reporting and event reporting

Additional Roles

  • Promote and ensure compliance with the requirements of SARPV’s HR policies, SARPV’s Code of Conduct and Other’s policies and Core Humanitarian Standards of Accountability to ensure protection to programme beneficiaries.

  • Provide capacity-building pedagogy supports to the mothers/caregivers of the children

  • Organize the age-specific toys in the ECCD corners for children of different ages
  • To look after the children in the ECCD corner and ensure that the children are playing with the specific toys
  • Deliver ECCD-related messages to the mothers/caregivers of the children
  • Raising awareness of ECCD to community stakeholders
  • Participate in the team meeting at the facility regularly
  • Work with field teams to collect information on potential case studies and success stories

Job Responsibilities:

A) Ensure adequate health and nutrition education sessions in the center

  1. Warm Welcome and Introduction to the caregivers and beneficiaries.
  2. Age appropriate complementary feeding, frequency, quality, quantity and responsive feeding.
  3. Explain the prevention and follow up procedures in the nutrition center, especially regular presence and follow up of the treatment.
  4. Explain the importance of hygiene and sanitation in the center and at home (nail cutting, washing hands before taking meal and after latrine).
  5. Conduct health and nutrition sessions according to the schedule.
  6. Introducing the recipe and discuss the cooking procedure with on nutritional value of the cooked recipe.
  7. To conduct cooking demonstration sessions in case newly admitted beneficiaries.
  8. Conduct cooking demonstration using locally available food and mukhe bhaat session

B) Follow up visits in the nutrition center

  • To conduct health and nutrition education sessions (breastfeeding counseling, complementary feeding, hygiene, care of pregnant and lactating women, proper advices to the caregivers and the beneficiaries on the proper way of feeding, especially for children).
  • Follow up and receiving feedbacks on the previous topics of health and nutrition education sessions.
  • To identify responsive beneficiaries and encourage others using positive deviance method.
  • Follow up of cooking practices at home.
  • Follow up of the hygiene and sanitation rules in the center and at home.
  • To inform the dates and days of next visit and explain the importance of attending within due period.

C) Growth monitoring promotion:

  • To promote growth monitoring using the plotted curve in the beneficiary card.
  • To counsel the caregivers of vulnerable children (severe and moderate underweight) about the necessity of good practices to combat under nutrition.
  • To encourage caregivers with children with good nutritional status, so that they would maintain the same care all the time.

D) Reporting and statistic:

  • To submit a monthly report on the number of sessions occurred and number of beneficiaries attended.
  • Record findings and feedback of the beneficiaries and their caregivers on health and nutrition educations.
  • Evaluate the improvement of caregivers’ knowledge on health and nutrition related topics.
  • To keep a daily tally on the number of responsive caregivers.
  • Flexibility and mobility is required at any time of the program implementation.

  • Ensure cooking demonstration session is being effective in the household level for newly admitted beneficiaries.
  • Ensure appropriate IEC materials are used by the CNV in community level MTMSG session
  • Ensure regular age appropriate IYCF messaging in community.
  • Ensure good quality of nutrition education session with appropriate IEC materials used by health educators at the center by making dynamic plans of cascading efficient message at the community level.

C) Quality control of the Program:

  • Ensure the implementation and follow up of standard protocols in the community level assessment.
  • Ensure that any instant critical issue of the field is taken care of from the technical point of view.
  • Ensure and monitoring of Support Group Meeting regularly at field level.
  • Ensure monthly and regular basis IFA distribution and Adolescent sessions among targeted group in the camps avoiding duplication.
  • Make monthly plans of CNP supervisors for ensuring 100% coverage of beneficiaries in the whole camps.
  • Make sure that effective and fruitful home visits are done by CNP and CNP supervisor.
  • Ensure the Cleanliness & hygiene maintenance in the household level.
  • Ensure proper official etiquette management and empathetic attitude with beneficiaries.
  • Make sure every data and information related to beneficiaries are recorded and calculated properly.
  • Ensure good collaboration with Site supervisor for making the program more fruitful.

D) Report/Analysis:

  • Prepare monthly target and activities plan for thyself and outreach staffs if necessary.
  • Submission of daily outreach reports to the program through assigned M&E Officers.
  • Prepare and submission of Monthly Statistical and analytical Report regarding outreach activities to the Site Supervisor
  • Report any kind of problem to the PM.
  • Make sure that daily, weekly and monthly record of beneficiaries (admissions, cured, defaulters, death, transfer, gain of weight, length of stay, etc.) is in place and give attention to cases which need special care with the assistance of center supervisor.
  • Be responsible for all reporting activities regarding nutrition center and outreach in the absence of site supervisor.

E) Coordination and collaborations:

  • Work in close collaboration and coordination with UNHCR & WFP field staffs and give timely feedback on going activities through PM.
  • Collaboration and coordination with respective CIC (Camp in Charge) office.
  • Collaboration and coordination with other stakeholders at field level.
  • Ensure good coordination with majhis, local leaders and Imams.
  • Active participation to and supervision of the community mobilization and awareness sessions among the local population.
  • Ensure monthly coordination meeting of SARPV field staffs at the Camp level.
  • Attend weekly/biweekly/monthly meeting at Ukhiya/Cox’s Bazar office with PM regularly if needed.

Education, Experience and basic requirement:

  1. Masters/Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Food Science or relevant subjects.
  2. 1 years of work experience in Nutrition, especially in refugee context.
  3. Good computer and report writing skills are required
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English is required

Employment Status: Contractual till 31st October 2023 (Renewable based on fund availability)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one breastfeeding counselling for mothers experiencing difficulties breastfeeding including supporting re-lactation;
  • Provide tailored one-on-one counselling sessions to mothers, in line with needs assessed in initial assessments, offering practical advice and education on key IYCF issues;
  • Provide mothers with practical advice on correct attachment and positioning when breastfeeding and respond to any concerns or local taboos associated with breastfeeding;
  • Counsel mothers on the appropriate time to introduce complementary feeding, and the benefits of continued breastfeeding and respond to any concerns or local taboos associated with complementary feeding;
  • Educate the mothers on the quality, quantity and frequency of complementary feeds to promote adequate weight gain;
  • Arrange food demonstration sessions (on complementary feeding) for the beneficiaries in collaboration with outreach workers, women support groups, and other key members of the community; Advice on food hygiene and the importance of preventing diarrhea and parasites in promoting nutrition. Deliver messages on IYCF practices and maternal nutrition to the targeted community/communities through group education sessions;
  • Lead and conduct support groups for caregivers of children under 2 and pregnant and lactating women, ensure formation of the mother support group (MSG) at the community level in areas where MSG are non-existent 2 | P a g e
  • Liaise with Community Health Team Leader to ensure that correct nutritional messages are integrated into all community education activities
  • Contribute to the development of contextually appropriate IEC materials for local IYCF assessments;
  • Utilize education materials and tools on breastfeeding and complementary feeding practices, relaying accurate, practical, and specific advice for the mother’s needs;
  • Assess all children presenting with low MUAC or other forms of malnutrition, treating and referring to local agencies as appropriate.
  • Work closely with medical and nursing teams to identify SAM children needing inpatient facility and supporting as per protocol.
  • Refer patients requiring follow-up to Community health Team

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Nutrition, Public Health, or similar qualification from any discipline.

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Based on the project annual workplans, support Upazila Nutrition Supervisor (UNS) to develop budgeted Upazila-level annual workplans, in close collaboration with stakeholders at Upazila level and UNICEF Cox’s
  • Facilitate and coordinate project-related activities at Upazila level, including meetings, trainings and field activities, monitoring and supportive supervision, ensuring alignment with workplans and synergies
  • Support planning and implementation of community mobilization and social behaviour change communication at community level to deliver services such as GMP, IYCF counselling, cooking demonstrations and, timely initiation of complementary feeding by organizing Mukhe Bhaat ceremonies.
  • Support capacity building activities; provide on the job capacity building of government staff at Upazila level and community level.
  • Provide technical and day to day support to nutrition counsellor, community nutrition volunteer and Multipurpose Health Volunteer (MHV) for the execution of screening, referral and treatment of acutely malnourished children, conducting GMP, organizing cooking demonstrations sessions and timely initiation of complementary feeding by organizing Mukhe Bhaat ceremonies, strengthen MIYCF counselling, micronutrient supplementation and adolescent nutrition services.
  • Support the implementation of the CBNP at Upazila-level (technical support, mentoring and supervision of community workers and their supervisors)
  • Support GoB counterpart for organizing orientation on comprehensive package of nutrition, MNCH and SBCC services for CG & CSG
  • Act as facilitators for the trainings of various cadres on nutrition.
  • Monitor the quality of comprehensive training on nutrition (including GMP, IYCF, micronutrient supplementation, counselling) and MNCH services facilitate by selected stakeholders
  • Ensure all Community Clinics, union health and family welfare centers (UH&FWCs) and Upazila Health Complexes (UHCs) are equipped with required nutrition supplies and equipment’s and SBCC materials
  • Participate in NAW & NVAC and any nutrition related event
  • Participate to the Project Management Committee meetings and internal project coordination meetings
  • Support to organise UNCC meeting and to disseminate Upazila level performance based on the both project implementation and improvement data analysis and as well as the PNRI data analysis using the CI value of the functionality indicators (according to NNS).
  • Support better coordination with other nutrition-related projects in the implementation areas
  • Provide support in organizing GOB/ Donor visits.
  • Perform any other task as required.

Requirements

  • University degree in Public Health, Nutrition or related technical field. A first university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience may be accepted in lieu of advanced university degree.
  • Experience in the relevant field, especially in the Health and Gender Support Project in Cox’s Bazar.

Job Responsibilities:
Overall Objective:

CFM Assistant is responsible for assisting in day-to-day implementation of the Community Feedback and Response Mechanism. Main responsibilities are mostly related to Accountability of Affected People (AAP) and include documentation of feedback and complaints, routine recordkeeping, and reporting. The position requires the ability to work in the field level with a multi-sectorial program team and to interact effectively with a wide variety of community members. This position is based on Bhasan Char camp level at Hatiya,Noakhali.

 Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with program staff and beneficiaries to develop structure and methods for managing the complaints and feedback in the field as well as maintaining the integrity of information received
  • Management of CFM database by ensuring proper documentation and aggregation
  • Ensure the collection of quality complain and feedback across the response
  • Interface and support programme team members, support programme coordination and policy engagement.
  • Analyze and prioritize the complaints according to its sensitivity
  • Assist in programme updates for the response management and internal information sharing
  • Assist in data collection processes if needed
  • Assist to conduct AAP sessions and monitoring
  • Assist with implementation of programme evaluations (data collection)
  • Support in conducting assessments as needed
  • Assist in handling, documenting, confidentiality and security of all informational resource related to feedback and complaints from beneficiaries
  • Support Complaints and Feedback Mechanism, including communicating responses to complainants; liaise with management and operations to ensure prompt follow-up on feedback and complaints received
  • Work with field teams to collect information on potential case studies and success stories
  • Other duties as directed.
