SARPV consider disability as a development issue. According to WHO 10% of the global population are facing challenges of disability. In Bangladesh there is no specific research or data about the percentage of people with disabilities.<\/p>\n

Everyone is under risk of to become disabled at any moment. Different mode of diseases, disasters, road accident, building collapses, mal nutrition, lack of awareness etc. are some causes of disability. In Bangladesh where many of the organizations works for the rights and rehabilitation for PwD\u2019s there SARPV give more emphasis on the prevention of disabilities.<\/p>\n

In disability prevention program SARPV has a greater focus on \u201cRickets, It makes a children permanently disabled if it not identified at the early stage and does not take the proper action. Considering this rickets issue especially placed under disability prevention and development program. \u00a0Even so Clubfoot, club lift are also under this program those who needs proper attention at the early stage\u00a0 then it is possible to prevent and to have a better life in future. SARPV also do works against these causes.<\/p>\n

Goal:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Making people aware and sensitizing the issue of disabilities and providing technical and information support in ways to prevent or control the challenges of disabilities and facilitating the development of a common understanding on disability and development.<\/p>\n

Approaches:<\/span><\/strong> Creating mass awareness of PwDS, their families, concerned stakeholders and sensitize them about the issue;<\/p>\n

• Developing network with different stakeholders especially who works on health, nutrition and disability issues and sharing information on the causes of information and prevention etc;<\/li>\n
• Provides the community with direct supports like physiotherapy, nutritional advice, supplementation, treatments through the assistance of doctors, surgeons and expertise from home and abroad in relation to rickets, clubfoot etc,<\/li>\n
• Develop IEC materials and prepare various tools on preventing disabilities;<\/li>\n
• Do advocacy with the Policy makers to treat rickets as an emerging health issue in Bangladesh<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
