According to the UNHCR operational portal, as on 18th May of 2019 in over 900000 Rohingya refugees, in- cluding 33956 registered refugees are living in Ukhia and Teknaf upazilas of Cox’s Bazar district. Around 181211 under five children are living in the camp who need continuous life- saving nutrition interventions.

From 2018, UNICEF and their compe- tent partners and Government of Bangladesh have been working to-

gether to prevent Rohingya children’s vitamin ‘A’ deficiency. The overall goal of this campaign is to provide around 95% under five children vitamin ‘A’ capsule, to conduct screening, to disseminate information about the significances of breastfeeding and to admit newly identified Severely Acute Malnourished chil- dren. Government of Bangladesh, UNICEF, UNHCR and partners all together organized the first round of NAW campaign at the Rohingya Camp in March 2019. As an implementing partner of UNICEF, SARPV participated in all the campaigns so far to provide the services. The second round of NAW in 2019 began on the 1st of December. This activity was operated from 1st to 5th De- cember 2019. SARPV operates on 12 sites in total. A total of seven OTP centers and five BSFP centers of SARPV provided this services among the Rohingya community. From SARPV, 6 staffs had participated in the campaign as camp focal. SARPV has been able to provide vitamin A capsule to 100% of the total targeted under five

population. Each of the employees of SARPV at NAW have worked tirelessly for five days to make NAW successful.   Click For PDF
