Violence in Rakhine State which began on 25 August 2017 has driven an estimated 723,000 Rohingya refugees (UNHCR, 2018) across the border into Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. Since September 2017, SARPV has reached 8847 with treatment for Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM). As per the new decision of Nutrition sector, SARPV has been started the screening, admission and treatment of children aged over five years from May, 2019. Due to extreme heat wave in whole Bangladesh, it was a tough weather condition everywhere especially in Cox’s Bazar due to over humidity rate. The condition is worse in the camps due to over-crowding and deforestation. Sometimes, sudden rain fall in these time period also make difficult to stay in camp and provide services to refugees. During this month, SARPV has continued its activities to get rid of malnutrition with the help of UNICEF through different activities like treatment of acute malnutrition, IYCF-E counseling & messaging, conducting different awareness & sensitization meetings and sessions etc.
