শোক র্যালী হাজার বছরের শ্রেষ্ঠ বাঙালি, স্বাধীনতার মহান স্থপতি জাতির জনক বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান- এবং বঙ্গমাতা শেখ ফজিলাতুন্নেসা সহ সকল শহীদের ৪৬তম শাহাদত বার্ষিকী এবং জাতীয় শোক দিবস ২০২১ যথাযোগ্য মর্যাদা ও ভাবগাম্ভীর্যের সাথে পালনের অন্যতম কর্মসূচী হিসেবে সোশ্যাল এসিষ্টেন্স এন্ড রিহ্যাবিলিটেশন ফর দি ফিজিক্যালী ভালনারেবল (এসএআরপিভি) চকরিয়া উপজেলাস্থ জাতির পিতার প্রতিকৃতিতে শ্রদ্ধাঞ্জলি জ্ঞাপন ও পুষ্পস্তবক অর্পণ করে। এসময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন চকরিয়ার মাননীয় সংসদ সদস্য জনাব জাফর আলম (বি এ অনার্স, এম এ), উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা জনাব সৈয়দ শামসুল তাবরীজ এবং উপজেলা চেয়ারম্যান জনাব জনাব ফজলুল করিম সাঈদী । এসএআরপিভি’র আঞ্চলিক পরিচালক জনাব কাজী মাকসুদুল আলম মুহিত উক্ত কর্মসূচীর সার্বিকভাবে সমন্বয় করেন।

এছাড়াও ১৫ আগস্টের সকল শহীদদের আত্মার মাগফেরাতের জন্য দোয়া মাহফিল, বঙ্গবন্ধুর জীবনী সম্পর্কে আলোচনা সভা এবং বৃক্ষ রোপণ কর্মসূচীর আয়োজন করে। ১৯৭৫ সালের ১৫ আগস্ট ইতিহাসের নির্মম ও বর্বরোচিত এই হত্যাকাণ্ডে নিহত সকল শহীদের প্রতি এসএআরপিভি’র পক্ষ থেকে রইলো বিনম্র শ্রদ্ধা।

]]>এসআরপিভি’র রিজিওনাল অফিসের (চকরিয়া) কার্যক্রম পরিদর্শন এবং এইএম’র অর্থায়নে সংস্থার “প্রদীপালয়” বিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের মাঝে উপহার বিতরণ অনুষ্ঠান।
কক্সবাজারের চকরিয়া উপজেলায় এনজিও সংস্থা এসএআরপিভি’র রিজিওনাল অফিস এর কার্যক্রম সরেজমিনে পরিদর্শন করেছেন চকরিয়া উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা (ইউএনও) জনাব সৈয়দ সামসুল তাবরীজ এবং চট্রগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের নারী প্রক্টর অধ্যাপক মরিয়ম লিজা। বিগত ২৮/০৭/২০২০ মঙ্গলবার এসএআরপিভি কার্যালয়ে পোঁছলে তাদেরকে স্বাগত জানান সংস্থার রিজিওনাল ডিরেক্টর জনাব কাজী মাকসুদুল হক (মুহিত)।

পরিদর্শনের শুরুতে ইউএনও জনাব সৈয়দ সামসুল তাবরীজ এবং চবির অধ্যাপক মরিয়ম লিজা সংস্থার রিজিওনাল কার্যালয়ের প্রতিবন্ধীদের এবং জনসাধারনের কল্যানের জন্য নিবেদিত প্রতিষ্ঠানটির চলমান বিভিন্ন কার্যক্রম পরিদর্শন করেন। এসময় তারা এসএআরপিভি’র প্রষ্ঠেটিক সেন্টারের প্রতিবন্ধীদের জন্য কৃত্রিম পা, হুইলচেয়ার এবং ক্র্যাচ বানানোর কার্যক্রম পরিদর্শন করেন। পরবর্তিতে দাতা সংস্থা এইএম এর অর্থায়নে সংস্থার দ্বারা পরিচালিত “প্রদীপালয়” বিদ্যালয়ের ২৫০ জন উপকারভুগীদের মধ্যে ত্রান সামগ্রী বিতরন করেন। উপকারভুগী প্রত্যেকে ৮ কেজি চাল, ১ কেজি ডাল, ২ লিটার তেল, ৪টি সাবান এবং ৪টি করে ফেস মাস্ক পান।

রিজিওনাল ডিরেক্টর জনাব কাজী মাকসুদুল হক (মুহিত) এর সভাপতিত্বে এই উপহার সামগ্রী বিতরণ অনুষ্ঠিত হয় যার প্রধান অতিথি ছিলেন চকরিয়া উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা (ইউএনও) জনাব সৈয়দ সামসুল তাবরীজ। অনুষ্ঠানে বিশেষ অতিথি ছিলেন চট্রগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের নারী প্রক্টর অধ্যাপক মরিয়ম লিজা। এ ছারাও উপস্থিত ছিলেন স্থানীয় ৪নং ওয়ার্ডের কাউন্সিলর জনাব জাফর আলম কালু, প্রদিপালয়ের স্কুলের প্রধান শিক্ষক জনাব আহমেদ কবির, সংস্থার বিভিন্ন বিভাগের কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারী, স্কুলের শিক্ষকমন্ডলী এবং অন্যান্য।

]]>A total of 23,358 under-five children and 6937 over five children were screened for malnutrition in the camps. Among them, 315 under five children were identified with severe acute malnutrition (SAM) by MUAC and from them 132 under five children were referred to Outpatient Therapeutic Programme (OTP) sites for full screening. A total of 251 under five children and 64 over five children were admitted for essential therapeutic feeding in this month. 1049 children were identified with Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM), subsequently 334 children were referred to Targeted Supplementary Feeding Programme (TSFP). The cure rate was 85 percent and defaulter rate was 1 percent, which is aligned with the International Humanitarian Sphere Standards. Click For Details . . .

]]>Achievements
The monsoon season was started on 15th June. There was not so much heavy rainfall throughout the month but it was drizzling most of the times. According to the ISCG, in June there were approximately 130 weather-related incidents including wind storms and landslides which affected the camps. SARPV had done emergency planning to prevent any circumstances. During this reporting period, 22376 children aged under five years and 5608 children aged over five years were screened for SAM (Severe Acute Malnutrition) among which male and female ratio was 44.8 and 55.2 who were referred to SARPV SAM treatment centers (OTP) for treatment. Two of them were identified as SAM with medical complications and referred to Stabilization Centers (SC) for in-patient care. In June, 337 under-five and 48 over five SAM affected children were cured. Moreover, 854 children were also identified who were suffering from Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) and among them 363 identified MAM patients were referred to TSFP for treatment and 6 SAM affected children were transferred in from TSFP. During this period, the defaulter rate was 1%.

]]>At the end of February and Middle of March, SARPV had arranged two Interac ve Popular Theater (IPT) shows in both Kutupalong and Unchiprang Camps. In the show, most of the roles were played by local IPT team. Total 45 minute drama was all about importance of IYCF-E prac ce and eco- nomic e ects in family and society. Open space was used in front of Camp In Charge (CIC) o ce of Unchiprang camp 22 and play- ground near Kutupalong camp 3 as the program venue. The name of the drama was “Healthy Mother and Healthy Child”.
In Rohingya communi es, early marriage prac ces are s ll exis ng which causes conceiving during ad- olescence. The young aged mothers are not well- informed about Infant and Young Children Feeding (IYCF). They don’t even know the proper breas eeding methods or process of feeding child. Due to lack of knowledge, they usually don’t want to breas eed their child a er six months of age.
All these issues were men oned in the play. Honor- able CIC of Camp 22 Mr. Faruk Ahmed, UNICEF Site Coordinator Nasrin Sultana and Emergency Nutri- on O cer (ENO) Farhana Rahman were present in the program of Unchiprang. Along with them, Site Management O cials, other service providers, local head majhies and bene ciaries were a ended the program. For the accomplishment of the program, Government, UNICEF and other stakeholders pro- vided necessary supports.

]]>Emergency Nutrition Intervention for Children Under-5, Adolescent, Pregnant and Lactating Women (ENICAPLW)
As on 18th May of 2019 in over 900000 Rohingya refugees, including 33956 registered refugees are living in Ukhia and Teknaf upazilas of Cox’s Bazar district.1 When Rohingya people come to Bangladesh, majority of them were women and children suffering from hunger and malnutrition. Considering this, on September 2017 SARPV Started implementing this programme to eradicate the widespread malnutrition of 6-59 month children according to the first framework of international protocol and by the assistance of UNICEF and their guidance through structured OTPs and BFSCs.
The mission of this project is to provide treatment to 6-59 months aged SAM (Severe Acute Malnourished) children, develop the nutritional status of both women and children along with adolescents by providing basic nutrition education and supplements to the pregnant and lactating women, enhance awareness among them and solve the complications regarding breastfeeding through IYCF counseling.
The second phase of the project was started from November, 2018 after successful completion of the first phase. Now, the third quarter of the Second phase is running. At present, SARPV is providing emergency nutrition services in 7 camps of Teknaf and Ukhiya upazila through 8 Out-patient Therapeutic Program (OTP) centers and 6 Mother Baby Areas (MBA) / Breast Feeding Support Centers (BFSCs) which are providing services to 24, 760 children under-5 including 5,000 SAM children, 5,720 pregnant and lactating women (PLWs) and 5,760 adolescent girls.
