Social Assistance and Rehabilitation for the Physically Vulnerable (SARPV) was established in 1988, a non-profit organization advocating for equal rights and social inclusion for people with a disability in Bangladesh, particularly the underprivileged. We provide medical treatment, primary education, vocational training, emergency financial aid and community support to our beneficiaries, their families and communities to encourage social acceptance, empowerment and independence of people with a disability.

Improving Maternal and Child Nutrition (IMCN) and Community based Management of Acute Severe Malnutrition at Host Community-Cox’s Bazar-ACF and WFP funded.

SARPV is looking for suitable candidate for following position of its IMCN & CMAM Project.

Job Title : Assistant Union Nutrition Supervisor.
Duration of contract : 10 months (Possibility of extension based on performance and need of the project).
Salary Range : 22000 BDT excluding other allowance (TA, Mobile etc as per organization)
Age Limit : 35 years maximum (age limit will be relaxed in case of potential candidate).
Duty station : Moheskhali & Pekua, Cox’sBazar.
Number of vacancy : 08 (Eight).

 

Managerial Supervisor:  Union Nutrition Supervisors

Supervisee: Community Nutrition Worker (CNW) / Community Nutrition Volunteer (CNV)- Partial

Key responsibilities:

Technically

  • Ensure CMAM and GMP are implemented in line with the national guideline of NNS
  • Ensure GMP data has been recorded and reported by CNWs
  • Support UNS in collaboration with facility staff ensures all necessary supplies (food and non-food) are requested on time.
  • Ensure the monitor follow up absentee, defaulter by CNV through routine outreach activities is effectively maintain.
  • Conduct CG, CSG and male forum meeting according to the work plan.
  • Assist in the setting up and smooth operation outpatient therapeutic program and supplementary feeding program in the CC and UH&FWC
  • Sensitization and facilitate the MoHFW staffs and community stakeholders to understand the importance of program and  to improve their ability to recognize cause and signs of malnutrition, provide appropriate education to target group and community to help mitigate MN and refer individuals as appropriate.
  • Ensure GMP for 0-59 Months children through CNW by regular monitoring and supervision.

Reporting

  • Submit a monthly and weekly statistical report for OTP-TSFP, GMP and School activity to the TCN and UNS on time

Capacity building

  • Supervise CNWs s working in the OTP/TSFP  at facility level and OJT regularly
  • Supervise CNV outreach activity and OJT routinely
  • Provide effective coaching and mentoring guidance to the community workers and volunteers so that they can run OTP/TSFP and referral to SC smoothly.

Other Responsibilities

  • Investigate the causes of non-responding and refer children to Stabilization Centre (SC) or in collaboration with SC staff.
  • Compilation of GMP data and delivered to TCN
  • Facilitate the school Health and Nutrition education session to assign school to improve the food habit and awareness on malnutrition.
  • Support UNS to organize male forum.
  • Assist UNS to model mother review meeting
  • Supervise Cooking demonstration of complimentary feeding at community level.
  • Supervise and monitor CNW for their requisition and distribution.
  • Coordinate with TCN to ensure comprehensive community outreach and mobilization, health education and treatment are undertaken per the guidelines.

Requirements: (educational, experience, language, etc.)

  • BSc degree/Equivalent degree (For highly experienced candidate educational qualification will be relax)
  •  Previous working experience in CMAM and field level NGO experience is preferable
  • Ability to work flexibly including weekends and willingness to travel and work in rural locations and live in basic conditions.
  • Competency in Microsoft excel, word, PowerPoint and basic communication apps like WhatsApp or Messenger.

  • Adhere to the 5 fundamental principles of SARPV movement.
  • Act at all times in accordance with the Code of Conduct and strong ethics with an ability to manage confidential data.
  • Listening skills; Cultural sensitivity; Flexibility & adaptability; Team player and gender sensitive.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and stay in the field.
  • Experience to work with a humanitarian response will be an added advantage.
  • Work experience within the SARPV Movement will be preferable.
